How Prices Are Determined

Gas prices are determined from multiple sources, including direct spotters who report to our data provider and anonymous data from actual credit card transactions which report what people are actually paying. Even though this information is as current as possible, there are still delays in processing the information, and prices are changing so quickly it is difficult to keep up. The prices displayed here may not reflect the price you see today, but they should give you an indication as to what stations offer lower prices, especially if you search for service stations in the zip code where you are most likely to buy.

If you see a low price and are planning to drive any distance to take advantage, please use the feature which provides the address and phone number when you click on a station to contact the company and verify the price before making the drive.

We work hard to make sure these prices reflect the current market; if you see a price reported here which is more than a few cents off, please complete the form here and we will work with our data provider to fine-tune the data.

Thanks for your understanding!
