DORAL (CBS4) ― A tropical storm warning was issued on Saturday from South Santee River, South Carolina up to the North Carolina/Virginia border.
Tropical storm warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected within the area in the next 24 hours.
The 8 a.m. advisory issued a watch from north of Edisto Beach, South Carolina to South Santee River, and from north of Cape Hatteras to Oregon Inlet. A watch means tropical storm watch means conditions are possible within the watch area, generally within 36 hours.
The center of Tropical Depression #3 is about 65 miles southeast of Charleston, South Carolina and 285 miles southeast of Cape Hatteras.
Its maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph, and it's moving toward the northeast at about 5 mph.
Rainfall amounts of 2-4 inches are expected along the immediate coastal sections of the Carolinas.
