Citing Energy Costs, FPL Asks For 16% Rate Hike

The rising price of gas could end up increasing your electric bill. Florida Power and Light wants to raise hike rates by 16-percent starting in August in order to make up for its increasing fuel costs.

Hasn't gas just about risen 100% in the last year? I don't know about you, but it's keeping me in, away from waterskiing. Major downer. I'm glad electricity isn't skyrocketing at the same rate as so much of the rest of the economy. If they keep investing that money into research, heck, we might even get ourselves off this foreign oil.
