Rage Wireless Guitars Used with Popular Video Gaming System Recalled
Due to Chemical Burn Risk
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in
cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall
of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled
products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Rage Wireless Guitars
Units: About 57,000
Manufacturer/Distributor: Performance Designed Products LLC, of Sherman
Oaks, Calif.
Hazard: A circuit board defect can cause AA batteries used in the
guitar to leak if the batteries are installed incorrectly, posing a risk of
chemical burns to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Performance Designed Products has received one
report of a burn to a consumer.
Description: The Rage Wireless Guitar controller is designed to be used
on the Nintendo Wii system. The guitar is blue or white and is 31
inches long. The guitar contains battery-operated LED-lighted fret buttons
that go up the neck of the guitar.
Sold at: Mass merchandisers and specialty retailers nationwide from
June 2008 through September 2008 for between $40 and $60.
Manufactured in: China
Remedy: Consumers should stop using the wireless guitar game
controllers immediately and return them to the place where purchased for a full
refund. Do not contact or return the product to Nintendo.

Fiesta Recalls to Inspect and Repair Gas Grills Due to Fire and Burn
Hazards
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in
cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall
of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled
products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Blue Ember Gas Grills
Units: About 47,000
Importer: Fiesta Gas Grills, of Dickson, Tenn.
Manufacturers: Keesung Manufacturing Co. Ltd. and Unisplendor Corp., of
China
Hazard: The gas grills can be assembled improperly exposing the gas
burner hoses to excessive heat, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Fiesta has received 14 reports of grill fires. No
injuries have been reported.
Description: The recall involves Blue Ember liquid propane (LP) or
natural gas outdoor grills. The recalled model and serial numbers are
listed below. The model and serial numbers are printed on a rating plate
label on the rear of the grill. The cabinet style grill has two doors and
is silver-colored and black or silver-colored and gray. "Blue Ember" is
printed on the grill's hood.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the grills, and inspect
the burner hoses to make sure they have been properly assembled. If
the hose is to the rear of the installed heat shield, the grill has been
improperly assembled and consumers should contact Fiesta for
replacement hoses, assembly instructions, and if necessary, for assistance in
examining the grill.

This meeting will discuss the new Consumer Product Safety Improvement
Act (CPSIA) limits for lead in both substrate and paint as well as
address some of the technical issues regarding meeting those lead limits. It
will also provide an opportunity for participants to share their views
with Commission staff regarding the upcoming rulemakings on what
product components, or classes of components, will be considered
inaccessible to a child through ordinary use and abuse. The meeting will also ask
participants to comment on whether it will be technologically feasible
for certain electronic devices to meet the new lead limits; 10:00

methodologies to perform sufficiently accurate and reproducible testing of painted
consumer products to determine compliance of either small areas of

Addendum
Meeting notices printed in this section did not reach the Office of the
Secretary in time to meet the Tuesday noon deadline for the previously
printed Public Calendar. Under the CPSC Meetings Policy, however,
staff persons, including Commissioners, can meet the seven-day notice
requirement by placing notice of the meeting on the Master Calendar at least
seven days before the meeting. The Master Calendar is in the Office of

In addition, the policy allows the Office of General Counsel to waive
